Jane Becker, a young lady from New Orleans married to Leslie, mother of a little girl, Lucy, and a little boy, Michael, has a lover, Fred Kellermann, with whom she meets in a flat she rents in the home of a young blind man, Robert Duval, who lives repairing musical instruments. During a meeting between the two lovers, Lucy, who has sensed her mother's infidelity, takes revenge on her by drowning her little brother in the bathtub.
