When the director Alessandro Blasetti (who also appears here as a performer) announces that he needs a 'beautiful' child actress, a torment of Roman mothers descend on Cinecittà offering their daughterhood. Among them is Maddalena Cecconi, who, however, gets tangled up in scroungers and hustlers, resulting in a series of humiliations (for her and her little girl).
